The Global Talent visa is to attract highly skilled workers from targeted sectors to boost the Australian economy does not require a job offer or sponsor. The applicant needs to be nominated by an Australian citizen, an Australian permanent resident or an Australian organization, who can endorse the applicant’s internationally recognized record of exceptional and outstanding achievements.

The applicant must be highly skilled in one of the ten sectors:
- Resources
- Agri-food and Ag Tech
- Energy
- Health Industries
- Defence, advanced manufacturing, and spaces
- Circular economy
- Digitech
- Infrastructure and tourism
- Financial services and FinTech
- Education
The applicant must:
- be prominent in their field of expertise
- be able to attract a salary that meets the high-income threshold – currently AUD$158,500provide evidence that they would be an asset to Australia, in their area of expertise
- prove they are internationally recognised with evidence of outstanding achievements
- have a recognised organisation or individual (Nominator ) in Australia endorse and support your application
- have no difficulty obtaining employment in Australia or becoming established in their field
