The Refugee (subclass 200) visa is for people who are living outside their home country and are subject to prosecution in their home country and who can show a need of resettlement in Australia.
To be eligible for Refugee (subclass 200) visa you must:
- Be living outside your home country
- Be subject to prosecution in your home country for reason of race, religion, nationality, membership of a particular social group or political opinion;
- Be a member of the immediate family of a person who holds a Refugee (subclass 200) visa and the relationship must have been declared to the Department before the grant of that person’s visa.
This visa allows the visa holder to:
- Stay in indefinitely Australia
- Work and study in Australia
- Enrol in Medicare
