The Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) visa allows skilled workers to remain permanently in Australia.
General Requirements:
- Under the age of 45 at the time of application
- Have the required skills and qualifications for the nominated position
- Have appropriate English language skills
- Meet health and character requirements
- Meet the requirements of the stream applicable to you
There are 3 possible pathways for an ENS visa:
Temporary Residence Transition (TRT):
It is available to the applicants who have worked with the employer on a 457 visa and/or a 482 visa for the last two years (if applicants held or have applied for a 457 visa on or before 18 April 2017); or three years under an occupation listed on the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List.
Direct Entry Stream:
It is available to applicants who do not meet the TRT stream. The applicant must have been employed for three years on a skilled level and provide a formal skills assessment in their nominated occupation at the time of the visa application. The nominated occupation must be on the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List.
Agreement Stream:
This stream is available to applicants where the employer has a Labour Agreement and sponsors the applicant.
